Geological Overview

Aquamarine is a prestigious member of the Beryl family, sharing its lineage with Emerald and Morganite. Its chemical formula is Be3Al2Si6O18, and it crystallizes in the hexagonal system. Sourced from the expansive pegmatites of Brazil, the signature "sea-water" blue is a result of trace amounts of iron (Fe2+) within the crystal lattice. These beads exhibit a desirable semi-translucent "milky" quality, which showcases the mineral's internal veils and occasional chatoyant shimmer.

Aesthetic Appeal

This collection offers two calibrated sizes for versatile wear. Each bead is polished to a vitreous lustre, revealing a serene palette of ice-blue and pale cyan.

  • 6mm Profile: A dainty, ethereal strand perfect for minimalist styling or delicate stacking.
  • 8mm Profile: A more substantial, "Collector Grade" weight that allows for a deeper appreciation of the natural internal structures and subtle light play within the stones.

Metaphysical Properties

Historically known as the "Stone of the Sea," Aquamarine has long been used as a talisman for sailors and travelers. Energetically, it is associated with the Throat Chakra, believed to facilitate clear communication and the peaceful expression of one's truth. It is a stone of "quiet courage," sought after for its ability to soothe anxiety and bring a sense of tranquil clarity to the mind.

Rarity & Collectibility

While Aquamarine is a staple of high jewelry, finding untreated, natural-colour beads that retain a saturated blue without "washing out" is a challenge. These strands are graded AA (Premium Collector Grade) for their consistent color matching and high-gloss polish. They represent an accessible way to own a true gem-grade silicate mineral in its natural, unheated form.

Collector’s & Display Notes

As a Beryl, Aquamarine possesses a high Mohs hardness of 7.5 to 8.0, making it extremely durable for daily wear. To maintain the professional lustre, clean simply with lukewarm soapy water and a soft cloth. Display against a dark wood or deep blue background to accentuate the Brazilian beryl's luminous, "icy" quality.
