Geological Overview

Ocean Jasper is a rare silicified rhyolite found only in Madagascar. These darker specimens are rich in iron and other mineral inclusions that create the deep black background. The small spots are "spherulites"—spherical silica crystals that grew outward from a center point, creating the stone's signature galaxy-like appearance.
