This large and commanding specimen features a matrix of radiant, high-clarity quartz crystals peppered with dozens of oxidized black pyrite cubes—some deeply embedded, others rising with strong geometric exposure. Geological Background

This specimen was mined from the Fengjiashan Mine, a globally recognized skarn-type polymetallic deposit located in Daye County, Hubei Province. The crystals formed as hydrothermal fluids rich in iron and sulfur permeated limestone, leaving behind pyrite in ideal cubic growth. The quartz formed in open vugs, growing upward and outward in response to the shifting geologic cavity.
