The Story of the Stone

Deep within the frozen wilderness of the Sakha Republic, Russia, lies the Murun Massif—the only place on Earth where true Charoite is born. Discovered in the 1940s but kept secret until the late 70s, this mineral captures the raw, rugged beauty of its Siberian home. These specific towers tell the complete story of that landscape: they are not just polished purple stones, but geological cross-sections. They display the violent and beautiful dance between the Violet Ray of Charoite, the grounding black of Aegirine, and the golden sunbursts of Tinaksite. Each piece is a "frozen storm" of mineralogical art.

Geological Overview

Charoite is a complex silicate formed from the alteration of limestone by the intrusion of alkali-rich syenite magmas. This unique contact metamorphism creates the stone's signature swirling, fibrous structure. This specific collection highlights the complex mineral assemblage of the deposit: deep violet Charoite swirling alongside black Aegirine (a pyroxene mineral), golden blades of Tinaksite, and pearlescent grey Microcline Feldspar.

Aesthetic Appeal

No two towers tell the same story. The defining characteristic of top-quality Charoite is its chatoyancy—a silky, fibrous luster that ripples like velvet when the stone is rotated in the light. The palette ranges from deep, jammy violets and lilacs to stark contrasts of midnight black and metallic gold. The intricate, fibrous structure creates a sense of movement, drawing the eye into a landscape that feels simultaneously frozen and fluid.

Metaphysical Properties

Known as the "Stone of Transformation," Charoite is the premier crystal for the Violet Ray and spiritual evolution.

  • The Integrated Self: These towers visually embody the journey from grounding (Black Aegirine) to spiritual insight (Purple Charoite) to higher consciousness (White/Clear Feldspar).
  • Deep Insight: It bridges the heart and crown chakras, helping one navigate major life changes with grace and find the "perfect pattern" in chaos.
  • Service: A stone of altruism and courage, encouraging the wearer to share their gifts with the world.

Rarity & Collectibility

True Charoite is found in only one location on Earth. As the deposit becomes exhausted, "gem-grade" material (pure purple with high chatoyancy) is becoming increasingly scarce. Specimens featuring distinct crystals of associated rare minerals—specifically the golden blades of Tinaksite—are highly prized by mineralogists for their complexity and are becoming difficult to source on the open market.

Collector’s & Display Notes

These towers are polished with flat bases, designed for vertical display. To fully appreciate the chatoyancy, we recommend displaying them in a well-lit cabinet or under direct natural light, which activates the pearlescent sheen of the fibers.

Choose Your Specimen

Every piece is unique. Please reference the letters in the images to select your exact stone.

  • Selection A: The Geological Pillar (605g)
    Dimensions: 6.6" x 1.8" x 1.25" (167mm x 45mm x 32mm)
A structural masterpiece. This tower features a distinct "Three World" formation: a solid black Aegirine base, a chaotic center of violet swirls and golden Tinaksite sparks, and a translucent "icy" white cap. Perfect for those who want a complete educational specimen showing all associated minerals in one piece.

  • Selection B: The Golden Starburst (545g)
    Dimensions: 6.7" x 1.8" x 1.2" (169mm x 45mm x 30mm)
Landscape Grade. The most explosive texture in the collection. This tower is defined by a massive, chaotic starburst of golden-bronze Tinaksite blades at its center. The purple Charoite flows around these golden crystals like a river around rocks, resolving into a calm violet swirl at the peak.

  • Selection C: The Ancient Mountain (740g)
    Dimensions: 8.7" x 1.7" x 1.3" (220mm x 43mm x 34mm)
The Grand Obelisk of the collection. Standing nearly 9 inches tall, this piece resembles a desert canyon. The body is composed of massive, bladed Golden Tinaksite and Feldspar, rising up into a storm of purple Charoite at the peak. A massive, earthy display piece.

  • Selection D: The Velvet Gem (515g)
    Dimensions: 6.3" x 1.6" x 1.25" (160mm x 40mm x 32mm)
AA Grade (Premium Collector). The aesthetic standout. This tower offers the richest, jammiest purple saturation. The Charoite fibers are tight and silky, creating a rolling "velvet" sheen when turned in the light. The tip features a sweeping "painterly" inclusion of gold matrix. The choice for the collector seeking the finest color and luster.

  • Selection E: The Ascending Spire (500g)
    Dimensions: 6.7" x 1.5" x 1.2" (170mm x 38mm x 30mm)
Elegant and high-contrast. This slender tower features the sharpest definition between its layers: a jet-black base, a vibrant purple core, and a massive, translucent white "glacial" cap. A high-energy piece that visually embodies the flow from Root to Crown chakra.

Condition & Authenticity

100% Natural Siberian Charoite. These specimens are untreated and undyed.

Condition Note: As Charoite is a fibrous mineral often found with harder host rocks, natural surface textures are common.
