Color & Transparency Range
Flower Agate ranges from translucent white to soft beige and caramel tones, with pinkish to cream plume-like inclusions. Each stone reveals unique patterns that resemble blossoms or seed pods floating within the quartz.
Overview
Flower Agate is a form of plume agate — a variety of banded chalcedony (SiO₂) — distinguished by its internal flower-like inclusions formed from manganese, iron, and other trace minerals. These inclusions develop as mineral-laden silica gels crystallize layer by layer inside ancient volcanic cavities and geodes.
Over time, the silica hardened into microcrystalline quartz, capturing the growth-like inclusions that give the stone its name. Flower Agate’s soft translucence and organic patterning make it one of the most visually poetic members of the chalcedony family.
Composition: SiO₂ (Silicon Dioxide) with Trace Iron and Manganese Inclusions
Formation: Chalcedony Deposited in Volcanic Cavities through Silica-Rich Fluids
Structure: Microcrystalline Quartz (Plume Agate Variety)
