Geological Overview

This specimen is composed of massive Fluorite, a calcium fluoride mineral represented by the chemical formula CaF2. In the isometric system, fluorite typically forms as a late-stage gangue mineral in hydrothermal veins. The distinct seafoam-to-mint green colouration is caused by trace structural defects and elemental substitutions within the crystal lattice during its formation. As the specific extraction locality for this lot is unconfirmed, it stands as a universal representation of the mineral's classic geological properties.

Aesthetic Appeal

Expertly sculpted and polished into a 58 mm (2.28") sphere, this piece boasts excellent orbital symmetry. The stone is semi-translucent, allowing light to penetrate the surface and illuminate a highly dynamic internal structure. It features striking internal cleavage planes—natural, reflective fracture lines inherent to fluorite's crystalline structure—that catch the light, producing subtle, mirror-like flashes. The surface is completely smooth to the touch, with no artificial resins or repairs.

Metaphysical Properties

Revered by energy practitioners as a premier stone for mental clarity and emotional stabilization, Green Fluorite is strongly aligned with the Heart Chakra. It acts as an energetic clearing agent, believed to dissolve stagnant emotional trauma and absorb negative environmental frequencies. Its highly organized cubic structure translates energetically into enhanced focus, making it an excellent companion for deep meditation or focused analytical work.

Rarity & Collectibility

While Green Fluorite is globally abundant, lapidary pieces that maintain this level of structural integrity without fracturing during the polishing process are highly desirable. We have graded this lot as A (Commercial-High Grade) due to its strong colour saturation and the absence of surface-level chips.

Collector’s & Display Notes

To maximize the visual depth of the internal cleavage planes, this 350 g (12.35 oz) sphere should be displayed in an environment with strong backlighting or indirect natural sunlight. It rests perfectly on a standard dark wood or brass ring stand. Note: Fluorite is a relatively soft mineral (4 on the Mohs scale) and is sensitive to prolonged, direct UV exposure, which can fade its green colour over time. Keep it away from abrasive materials to protect the high-gloss polish.
