Purchase Options
- Single Stone: 1 piece (~20 – 45 g)
- 250 g Lot: ~7 – 10 stones (⭐ Best Value)
Color & Appearance
Kunzite ranges from pastel lilac and soft pink to lavender with occasional green or clear zoning. Under UV light, it fluoresces vivid orange to peach-pink, highlighting trace manganese content that gives the stone its color. Each polished piece shows natural striations and a subtle vitreous luster.
Overview
Kunzite is the pink gem variety of the mineral Spodumene (LiAlSi₂O₆), a lithium aluminum inosilicate belonging to the pyroxene group. It forms in lithium-rich pegmatites, often alongside quartz, lepidolite, and tourmaline. Its characteristic color results from trace amounts of manganese substituting for aluminum in the crystal lattice.
This mineral crystallizes in the monoclinic system and is known for its pleochroism — appearing colorless, pink, or violet depending on the viewing angle.
Composition: LiAlSi₂O₆ (Lithium Aluminum Silicate)
Formation: Lithium-Rich Pegmatite Environments
Structure: Monoclinic Crystal System (Spodumene Group)
