Rhodochrosite (MnCO3) is a manganese carbonate mineral characterized by its vitreous lustre and rhombohedral crystal system. These specimens originate from Argentina, where the mineral forms as stalactitic growth. The striking pink and white bands represent different stages of manganese concentration during precipitation, often interspersed with minor manganese oxides that provide darker accents.
