Overview

Rhodonite is a manganese silicate mineral (MnSiO3) belonging to the pyroxenoid group. It forms through regional metamorphism in manganese-rich deposits, often associated with minerals like spessartine garnet, rhodochrosite, and galena. Its signature pink tones arise from the presence of manganese, while the black veining is due to oxidation of surface manganese into dendritic patterns.

The name derives from the Greek word rhodon, meaning “rose.” Fine-grained varieties like these tumbled pieces show a soft, matte glow under light, revealing intricate banding and mineral inclusions that make every stone unique.
